What to expect moving to Millersville?

Curious what people think. I'm a 48-year-old project manager and It's a a small town city with about 8,711 people. Homes are going for about $265,500 on average. Median household income is $65,721, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Seattle it's solid.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
