My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $67,190 in Millville. The median home value here is around $199,300, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $199,300 on average. Median household income is $67,190, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Millville? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.
