Remote worker thinking about Milpitas

Military spouse here. Median household income is $176,822, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 78,216 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Diego about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
