Rent vs buy in Milpitas -what makes sense?

Hey, It's a a smaller city city with about 78,216 people. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
