What Milpitas does better than anywhere else

Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider -Milpitas sits at 123.9 per 100K. With a population of 78,216, Milpitas is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Downtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
