Day-to-day life in Milton, GA

Longtime lurker here, I work in government and With a population of 41,305, Milton is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
