What Milton does better than anywhere else

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Milton sits at 40.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $896,500 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
