What surprised you most about Milton?

Anyone else feel this way? You can expect to pay around $1,503 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..
