Working remotely from Milton

Hey folks, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $178,053 in Milton. Homes are going for about $896,500 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 6 years. Moved from Boston for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is improving - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited high-paying job options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Westside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Westside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The food scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Riverside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cost of living scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2018 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
