Hello, Median household income is $89,804, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 8.6%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
