Should I move to Milton or stay in Salt Lake City?

Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $940 for rent here. Homes are going for about $210,500 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in West for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- The safety scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The pet-friendliness is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from New York about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in The Heights area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Downtown for 5 years. Moved from New York for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is average - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Property taxes are high. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Phoenix it's average.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
