Random thought, Household incomes average around $82,422 in Milwaukie. Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Portland about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..
