Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $42,231 in Mineola. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Downtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is solid
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
