Working in Mineralwells -salaries realistic?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 18 months ago and You can expect to pay around $927 for rent here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. **Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Bugs and humidity in summer. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
