Should I move to Minneapolis or stay in Minneapolis?
I'm a college student here and With a population of 427K, Minneapolis is a mid-size city. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What do you all think? TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The pet-friendliness is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been in Meadowbrook for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
government is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Winters are long and cold. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
