Working remotely from Minneapolis — my experience

I've been working remotely from Minneapolis for 15 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Minneapolis is a solid choice.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Midtown and Southside are perfectly safe.

Don't sleep on Northside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

I've lived in Eastside for 1 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Coming from Phoenix, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.
