Commute times in Minnetonka -how bad?

OK so I've been here for 19 years and You can expect to pay around $1,758 for rent here. Household incomes average around $120,496 in Minnetonka. Rent is about $1,758/month for a decent place. Median household income is $120,496, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 14 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 12 years. Moved from San Francisco for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Dating scene is rough. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
