Poverty rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $122,163 in Minooka. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in West area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Uptown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is improving
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
