Best neighborhoods to rent in Minot?

Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $77,431, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $928 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 11 years. Moved from Tampa for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Rising rent and home prices. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
