Biggest downsides of living in Miramar?

Hey folks, The median home value here is around $420,300, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 5.8%, which is pretty low. With a population of 136K, Miramar is a mid-size city. Median household income is $86,109, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Cheers. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Bought a house here in 2017 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Moved here from Denver about 13 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to safety but Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Midtown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
