Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $53,120, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. With a population of 50,907, Mishawaka is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
