Mission Hills is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -Mission Hills sits at 349.2 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I work in government here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is underrated. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Downtown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The weather scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much growing but now it's underrated.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
