Random thought, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $160,800, which is actually reasonable. It's a a smaller city city with about 86,234 people. Median household income is $60,813, which feels about average for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely pretty good and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is excellent in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
