Rent prices in Mission getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Mission? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $931 for a 1BR which feels okay for the area.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

I've lived in University District for 5 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 3 months.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Eastside are perfectly safe.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

As someone who moved here from LA, I can confirm most of this. The weather surprised me the most.

The job market has been improving lately. Several manufacturing companies moved in recently.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Riverside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.
