Is Missoula getting better or worse?

Hey folks, Median household income is $65,329, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,120 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Missoula sits at 411.0 per 100K. Homes are going for about $427,400 on average. Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a writer and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much growing but now it's excellent.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
