Most overrated things about Missoula

So, I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $1,120/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Came here for weather and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in engineering here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in North area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The dating scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely excellent and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's tough.
