Random thought, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $490,400, which is pretty steep. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Korean places. it exceeded my expectations.
