Anyone else love living in Mobile?

OK so Average temperature is around 70°F, so it's warm year-round. Am I overthinking this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
