Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $1,609 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The pet-friendliness is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Midtown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The public transit scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is underrated in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
