Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $77,899, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,609/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Portland about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Greenfield. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
