Molalla is underrated, change my mind
Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Molalla sits at 96.5 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 10,168 people. You can expect to pay around $1,496 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events
Cons:
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Limited cultural events
Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
