Working in Molalla -salaries realistic?

Longtime lurker here, The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $416,900, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $83,996, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 10,168, Molalla is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? Cheers. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Highland) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
