Moncks Corner is underrated, change my mind

OK so I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Moncks Corner sits at 458.9 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 14,362 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Moved here from New York about 4 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to food scene but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
