Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and With a population of 9,734, Monett is a small town. Homes are going for about $149,000 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Monett sits at 201.1 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? Any help is appreciated. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
