Anyone else love living in Monmouth?

Hey everyone, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Monmouth sits at 141.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,137 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 11,176 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
