Why I chose Monona over bigger cities

I work in construction and The median home value here is around $125,900, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $125,900 on average. Rent is about $1,000/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The walkability is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
