How is Monroe for outdoor activities?

First post here. We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Monroe sits at 527.0 per 100K. Would love some local perspective.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Pine Hills area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
