Best restaurants in Monroe?

I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $161,500 on average. With a population of 20,330, Monroe is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The walkability is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
