Job hunting in Monroe -tips?

Hey folks, I'm retired and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs?

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
