Monroe job market vs Austin

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,216/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $67,265 in Monroe. Poverty rate is 11.0%, which is around average. You can expect to pay around $1,216 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Eastside area are solid. Kids love it here.
