Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 15,024 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 4 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much reasonable but now it's average.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
