What's it really like living in Monroe?

Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and The median home value here is around $264,000, which seems about average. Median household income is $103,638, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
