Working in Monroe -salaries realistic?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Monroe sits at 295.5 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Eastside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The weather scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
