Longtime lurker here, Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 6.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $78,191 in Monroeville. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 5 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've lived in Uptown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Baltimore it's challenging.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
