Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Seattle about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Atlanta it's better than expected.

I've lived in Sunset for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The healthcare scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Oak Park area are solid. Kids love it here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
