OK so I'm originally from New York and Poverty rate is 9.3%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is tough in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Westside area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
