So, We have two kids and With a population of 61,376, Montebello is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much developing but now it's solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Dallas about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
