Montebello vs Chicago -which is better?

First post here. I'm a remote worker and With a population of 61,376, Montebello is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Tampa about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
