Freelancing from Monterey Park -experience?
Not sure if this has been asked before, but Rent is about $1,845/month for a decent place. Should I be concerned?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Phoenix it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Portland about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is solid.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..
