Longtime lurker here, Crime rate is something to consider -Montevideo sits at 177.5 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $832 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Should I be concerned? TIA! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
